Thankful

Thankful

Happy Thanksgiving!
It only takes browsing the news alerts on your phone or launching Twitter to realize all the many reasons we have to be thankful during this season of thanksgiving.

You Knew There Was A List Coming…
Here are 10 Good Things I am thankful for heading into Feast Week 2022.

  1. My neighborhood has not been under missile attack and I have electricity, heat and running water. Millions in Ukraine have one of those three things only sporadically now.
  2. College basketball remains one of the most constant reminders that teamwork continues to thrive and inspire.
  3. Mucinex (*maximum strength) and Chloroseptic cough drops. Game changers while battling my first flu in years.
  4. I used the down time while battling the flu to watch some remarkable limited series, including season one of the “White Lotus” (HBP Max) and the first half (six episodes) of season one of “Andor” (Disney Plus). Exceptional and highly recommended.
  5. Finally breaking down and buying Disney Plus and Hulu subscriptions. I will catch up eventually. Promise.
  6. Unemployment is at a 70-year low
  7. Christmas Vacation” (Netflix) and “Better Off Dead” (Showtime) continue to make me laugh. Hard.
  8. I resisted the urge to spend $44 billion in a desperate bid to get people to like me on a social media platform.
  9. My Detroit Lions put together a three-game winning streak for the first time since 2017… the fact I am thankful for this really puts in perspective what being a Lions fan entails.

QUOTABLE: “When I was a kid in Indiana, we thought it would be fun to get a turkey a year ahead of time and feed it and so on for the following Thanksgiving. But by the time Thanksgiving came around, we sort of thought of the turkey as a pet, so we ate the dog. Only kidding. It was the cat!”
